Description
Reverse outline: extract paragraph skeleton, diagnose duplicate/gap/stray/order issues, propose restructured order.
Every piece of writing has a hidden structure. A reverse outline extracts it sentence by sentence, revealing whether the argument flows logically or jumps between unrelated points. METHOD: 1. Number every paragraph 2. Summarize each paragraph in exactly one sentence 3. Write each summary as a topic statement 4. Line up the summaries in order DIAGNOSTIC CHECKS: - THE DUPLICATE TEST: Two paragraphs with nearly identical summaries? Merge or clarify. - THE GAP TEST: A logical leap between adjacent paragraphs? Add a bridge or missing argument. - THE STRAY TEST: A paragraph not serving the thesis? Cut it. - THE ORDER TEST: Would paragraphs 3 and 5 work swapped? Restructure. OUTPUT: Paragraph skeleton table, diagnostic findings, restructured outline.
